Traci Wagner - May 23, 1967 - September 10, 2009

Hi everyone. I know many of you have been wondering how we've been faring here at home, so I wanted you all to know that my wife Traci died peacefully at home this morning at around 10:45AM. The past few days had been extremely difficult, filled with pain and discomfort, so this is a blessing we have been waiting for.

Thanks to all of you who have been calling and writing. It's meant so much to me to know how much you all care. I know a lot of you out there didn't know Traci personally, so I thought it might be nice for you to see a couple of pictures of her.

I'll be taking some family time for a little while, and then figure out the rest of my life from here. I'll be back at some point in the near future with some art again. This has been a really long, difficult year, and I need to get back to the reason I started this blog: showing my artwork.

I hope my delving into the personal hasn't been too much here, but there's been very little work to speak of, and my fulltime job over this past year has essentially been taking care of Traci and our son. I appreciate your indulgence during this difficult time.

I'll talk to you all soon.

Best,
Rich

Well, this is sad news, Rich. I had just gone onto Facebook and saw the post and was shocked. Sorry to hear about this and sorry that you've had a tough year or two of dealing with all the pressure this puts on the family. Cancer is a pain in the ass and I know from my father's losing battle that something has to be done about it and the healthcare in this country.

Best wishes to you and your family!

Rich, I've been reading of your sad experience for many months now, and having lost several family members to cancer, I can somewhat imagine how difficult this past couple years has been.

What I cannot imagine is how i would feel if I lost the love of my life. The way you have gallantly and steadfastly cared for her has been very touching and I think important for others to know about. Your courage and kindness will be rewarded one day, if in no other way than by the memories you will carry onward for your son.

I am praying for you and your family, Rich, and know there are better days ahead for you. For now, I pray you will feel comforted in knowing how many people Traci's fight and your support will have meant to many. May God richly bless you and your son. He's a lucky boy.

Damn. I left on the 10th for a long roadtrip for the Pittsburgh Comic Con weekend and got back MOnday and after trying to get caught up on sleep and crap I finally bounced over here and read the awful news. Damn. Rich, I don't really know you or Tracy but I think I can speak for much of the inking and comic book community that we were rooting for you two during these many months of struggling. We regrettably cannot relieve your pain and anguish but hopefully the love and support of family and friends can help ease the pain and loss you are going through now.

Sincerest condolences to you and your loved ones.

Jeez...
My heart breaks for you Rich.

I didnt know Traci real well but I did know she was an excellent human being, mother and wife.

If there is a heaven, I would hafta say that its a more graceful and better place to visit with Traci's presence there.

God bless you and your family!

Rich-

I've only just heard, and didn't know of Traci's plight. I'm shocked and deeply saddened.

My most sincere condolences can only mean so much at a time like this- but you have whatever support I can give.

My condolences, Rich. I think I only met Traci once, at Mike's funeral ironically. She was a wonderful person, and I'm so sorry for your loss.

Be well.
